Music society
THE first concert of Darlington Music Society’s 2018/19 season is on Saturday, October 6 at the Dolphin Centre at 7.30pm. The Jubilee String Quartet will play pieces by Beethoven, Schubert and Panufnik. Entry costs £14 per concert.
Dance night
EVERYONE is welcome to attend a Thursday night dance at Albert Hill Club in Darlington. Organisers also want to give a special welcome to dancers who attended the recently cancelled Thursday night dance at Beechwood and Easterside Club in Middlesbrough. Music will be provided by Mike on the organ and he will play a mixture of ballroom and sequences dances. There will also be bingo. The event starts at 7.45pm and takes place every Thursday. Garage raid
POLICE are investigating a burglary of a garage on Greenbank Road, Darlington. It was broken into over Monday night and nothing stolen, but officers believe items had been moved as though being prepared to be taken.
Comedy night
COMEDIAN Nish Kumar will be performing at Darlington’s Majestic Theatre on Saturday. Ticket prices start from £18. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Visit www.majestictheatre-lee.com/box-office.html for details.
Residents meet
THE Branksome and Cockerton Residents Association will hold its next meeting on Thursday, September 27 from 7pm at the Wyvern Academy, Eggleston View.
