A PRIMARY school in Darlington has unveiled a number of improvements to its facilities in time for the new term.

Northwood Primary School, on Pendleton Road South, has installed a new sandpit, boot room, external classroom and recycled garden.

The school is also in the process of finishing off a new obstacle course in the playground, and also carried further improvements inside.

A new music zone has been installed in the nursery gardens, whilst the school's reception class has a new teaching and learning zone which has new flooring, new display boards and new furniture.

New plants and planters have been installed in the early years' area, and the pond area in school is in the process of being transformed into Northwood’s very own Wilderness Garden.

Zoe Beach, headteacher at the school, said: "This will be fully established by the spring term and I can’t wait to show it off."
