AN MP has visited a scout group to allow them to test their media skills.
Jenny Chapman, MP for Darlington, has visited the scouts of the 12th Darlington Scout Group to help them get there media relations and marketing badge.
During the evening, the group got the chance to test their interviewing skills by grilling local figures, including Ms Chapman.
Ms Chapman said “I really enjoyed my visit to Darlington Scouts and I was pleased to have the opportunity to see how local Scouting is evolving but still providing our young people with challenge, stimulation but most of all, fun.
“What also really shines through is the skill and commitment of the volunteer leaders who give their time to local youngsters.”
Neil Calvert, scout group leader, said “It was great that Jenny could take time out of her busy schedule to come and visit us on our Troop night.
“The Scouts had been working on their interview questions over the past couple of weeks, and hopefully Jenny and our other guests were not too phased by the varied set of questions."
