TWO quilts made by a North-East quilting group to raise funds for Durham University's Project Sri Lanka will be on display in the region on Saturday.
Linda Greener, from Heighington, near Darlington, challenged members of Patchwork and Quilting Darlington to make a quilt to raise funds for the project, which will see 15 Durham students help to rebuild a school on the island.
Ms Green said: "This is the first project we have done as a group. It was challenging, though very enjoyable.
"We learnt a lot along the way and we hope the quilts will raise a lot of money to help with the reconstruction of the building and the school community as a whole."
The university is planning to auction the quilts in the New Year. The quilts, along with others made by the group, will be on display at the King's Centre, Whessoe Road, Darlington, between 10am and 4pm.
