Aspiring chefs have been making a meal of it in the kitchens at Darlington College.
A group of 11 to 15-year-old schoolchildren have joined a junior chef's course and are working their way through the menu on Saturday mornings.
Darlington College tutor Becky Dougill said: "We are covering starters and soups, main courses and sweets, so by the end of the course, they will be able to prepare a complete meal.
"We are also looking to broaden their knowledge of food which, I must say, is already pretty good."
Jack Lamont, 12, of Hummersknott Language College, said: "I would love to be a chef and am a big fan of Jamie Oliver. I love being involved in the kitchen and to make nice food."
