After six wins out of six Dave Penney says Darlington's players are enjoying their football and points out Neil Wainwright as an example of Quakers' turnaround in fortunes.

Before Penney's arrival a month ago, Darlington had won just one of their previous nine games but Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Mansfield Town maintained Penney's 100 per cent record.

Wainwright was only a fringe player but became a regular when Penney immediately switched to 4-4-2. The right-winger has since gone from strength-to-strength.

He has been among Quakers' best performers and is guaranteed to start tomorrow's clash at home to Swansea City.

Penney said: "Players have got a new lease of life, especially Neil. I think he is really enjoying playing 4-4-2 and you can see that in games we have played recently.

"The way I like teams to play is uncomplicated. We've worked on the fitness but we'll have to be careful with the amount of games we have coming up.

"We've also worked on the tempo and the players have bought into it.

"We have tried not to change the team too much, we have kept the same team and the four across midfield have been excellent.

"You need to get consistency in your team and with that the players build an understanding.

"We made changes against Mansfield and it was difficult for the players who came in on Tuesday because they weren't quite at the right tempo, certainly not at the tempo I like to play. But they'll get there in the end, hopefully."

Joey Hutchinson's place in tomorrow's starting line-up is in the balance and a decision on his hip injury will not be made until as late as possible, but Julian Joachim is a strong contender to start.

After recovering from a hamstring strain, the striker started against Mansfield and played an hour.

He could be handed a similar role tomorrow against Swansea who are sixth in League One.
