A DARLINGTON project has gained national recognition.
Darlington Clasp (Children's Looked-After System Project) was highly commended in the children and families category of the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) awards, held at Chelsea Football Club.
The project is based at the Mulberry Centre, in Darlington Memorial Hospital, and was set up to help children who are in care - looked-after children - who are more likely to experience mental health problems.
Looked-after children are one of the most vulnerable groups in society, and they often experience significant difficulties in their lives, such as family breakdown.
Jo Dawson, general manager. said: "I'm delighted that the excellent work by the team has been nationally recognised. This is tribute to the truly innovative partnership working between the trust and colleagues in the local authority.
