FUNDRAISERS for Darlington 1883 Football Club have presented the team with more than £1,000 raised through music events.

The Darlington Football Club Fundraising Group organised an acoustic night at the Cleveland Bridge Club and a rock ‘n’ blues event at the Travellers Rest which raised a combined £1,300.

Representatives from the fundraising group presented Dave Mills and Paul Colman of the club’s Community Interest Company with the money on the pitch at half time during last Saturday’s match at Heritage Park.

Fundraiser Joanne Cameron said: “We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have contributed and supported us so far.

“The fundraising group is going from strength to strength and we have a number of events in the pipeline that will appeal to people of all ages and tastes.”

Club director Mr Mills added: “The amount of money donated to the football club from the two music nights held in the last few weeks was fantastic and we appreciate everyone’s contribution.”
