A COURSE is on offer to help youngsters in Darlington lead healthier lifestyles.
The ten-week MEND programme (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do it!) was developed by experts at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Institute of Child Health to tackle child obesity.
It is designed for overweight children aged seven to 13-years-old but also works to improve the entire family’s eating and exercise habits.
The twice-weekly programme activities include games, nutrition sessions, a supermarket tour and group events.
MEND in Darlington is supervised by qualified trainers from the council’s sports development team and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
