AN autism-friendly screening of The Croods will take place at the Odeon cinema in Darlington on Sunday, April 21.
The film, which starts at 11.30am, will be shown with the lights on low, the sound turned down and without trailers to make the cinema experience more enjoyable and suitable for autistic people.
Customers can also take their own food, make noise and move around the cinema as they feel comfortable.
The special screenings were introduced thanks to the Dimensions charity which provides support services for people with learning disabilities and autism.
Cinema tickets can be purchased as normal from the cinema box office or online via the ODEON website www.odeon.co.uk or through the accessibility helpline on 0800 138 3315 between 11am and 8pm.
