Cancer Research UK has thanked the people of Darlington for raising more than £2.5 million by supporting their local charity shop over the last 36 years.

The Post House Wynd shop, which has raised £2,592,892 to help beat cancer, closed its doors for the final time on Sunday, March 19.

Now that the shop has closed, following a decline in footfall which affected profitability, loyal customers are encouraged to visit the charity’s nearest shops in Northallerton and Sunderland.

Area trading manager Sharon Parker issued a heartfelt thanks to all the staff and volunteers who have kept the shop going.
