A SOCIAL and educational project for children with Down’s syndrome in the North-East is calling for the region to take part in a global show of support.
Together 21, which provides learning and development for children and babies with the condition, is asking for people to get involved with World Down Syndrome Day on Wednesday, March 21.
The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), in Newton Aycliffe, where the project is based, has already pledged to participate in what the call to action day is promoting as #LotsofSocksDay.
Carol Gaskarth, chief executive, said: “We want to get people talking and raising funds for this worthwhile group so let’s wear wacky socks, and make them visible.”
Anyone who would like to support the day or raise funds for Together 21 is asked to call Karen Grundy at the PCP on 01325-321234.
Members of the public can get involved by using the hashtag #LotsOfSocksDay and tagging the PCP on Twitter @PioneeringCare and Facebook @PCPandCentre
