ELDERLY twin brothers threatened and abused neighbours leaving one visibly shaken and crying, magistrates have been told.

Philip and Anthony Logan, 77, of Turker Close, Northallerton, were warned by police after female neighbours complained.

Philip Logan admitted two charges of using abusive and threatening behaviour, while Anthony Logan admitted three charges.

Prosecuting, Sarah Tyrer said a neighbour recorded one of the brothers shouting and swearing at her saying “I will kill you you b****.”

Another time, the brothers had protested at another neighbour using a hammer, calling her names and saying:”I will get hold of that hammer and kill you with it.”

When interviewed by police, both men could not recall the incidents but could not rule out that they had happened and showed remorse.

There have been no further problems, but there was a request for a restraining order. Northallerton magistrates did not make a restraining order but imposed 12 month conditional discharges on the brothers. They were also ordered to pay £105 costs each.
