GARDEN enthusiasts are being reminded they can still sign up to have their green waste collected.
Durham County Council’s garden waste service is still available with collections starting as soon people sign up.
Victoria Burrell, waste strategy team manager, said: “Well over 56,000 residents are already taking advance of our garden waste service and it is not too late for other green fingered residents to apply.”
The following items can go in the garden waste bin for composting: grass cuttings, shrubs, leaves, weeds, flowers and bedding plants, hedge clippings, pruning sand small branches
Residents can sign up for the service for a fee of £35, with collections occurring fortnightly until November.
Those who have already subscribed to the service are reminded to fix their bin sticker to the garden waste bin and put the bin out for collection by 7am on their collection day.
