A MOTORIST suffered serious facial and neck injuries when his car left the road and overturned.
The male driver lost control on Middridge Lane, near Newton Aycliffe, just before midnight on Saturday.
The blue Citroen Picasso was northbound when it left the road, rolled onto its side and it finished in a farmer’s field.
The driver left the scene but later went to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The accident caused delays for motorists using the road, which was closed while police carried out investigations at the scene.
