MUSICIANS are being challenged to create a carnival atmosphere by showcasing their talents at the 2006 Tees Pride 10k Road Race and Fun Run
Organisers hope to attract a field of 3,000 runners, and are looking for bands to play at the warm-up stage, start and various points around the route.
Mick Callaghan, service support manager with Middlesbrough Sport and Leisure, said: "We had a fantastic atmosphere last year, but this year we really want to raise the tempo. Lots of last year's runners said how the spectators' shouts and cheers lifted their spirits, so we're really looking for some rousing music to spur them on, too."
The race takes place on Sunday, September 17.
All types of music will be considered. For details, call Mr Callaghan on (01642) 515637
