Fresh from Harry Potter film, siblings both land lead roles in new TV show.

BROTHER and sister Elliott and Grace Francis have proved they are no “muggles”

– for the Harry Potter actors have landed lead roles in a new children’s TV programme which will be shown across the world.

Elliot, 23, and Grace, 19, of Ingleby Barwick, Teesside, are flying to Canada today to start filming for Spatalot.

The aspiring actors, who will both feature in the final Harry Potter film, The Deathly Hallows, which is out in November, will be working with West End star Natali Ontri, best known for her role as Nala, in The Lion King.

Casting directors were unaware they were related as they were picked at separate auditions.

Their mother, Sue Francis, who also acts as their agent at North-East-based Kreative Talent Agency, said she was delighted when she was told of their success.

“Grace auditioned first and when they rang to tell me she was being cast as a lead role, I was delighted,” she said.

“Then I got another call saying Elliot was also getting a lead role – I couldn’t believe it.

“I tried to remain professional but at the same time wanted to screech with excitement, and almost did.

“They did not know they were brother and sister and said they couldn’t tell. I never tell people I am their mother and agent before they get parts.”

Elliot and Grace will be spending seven weeks in Canada filming for Spatalot.

The programme is expected to be broadcast across the UK, US, Canada and Australia next spring.

Mrs Francis said she admired the grit and determination of her children to impress and their ability to secure roles at very short auditions.

She said: “Apparently, they are expecting it to be massive.

This is the first time all of these networks have joined together to produce something like this.

“I am incredibly proud of them. People say you need to be at a London-based agency to get anywhere, but they are proving everyone wrong.”
