A CHARITY which supports people with sight loss has won a grant to distribute specially-adapted wireless equipment.
The County Durham Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted has been awarded £2,200 from the British Wireless for the Blind Fund.
It will help the society to continue providing adapted audio equipment, including radio cassette and CD radio cassette players.
The equipment has bright yellow buttons, with tactile markings for those with less vision.
Anyone registered blind or partially sighted can borrow equipment on free long-term loans, while the society hopes to make the service available to more people. For more information on the scheme or the society, contact Sandra Hillyard, on 0191-386 8175.
