A GROUP of Bengali mothers are working to provide activities for children from the wider community in Darlington.
The Asha Ladies' Group meets several times a week at the McNay Street Children's Centre for keep fit, healthy eating classes, walking and swimming.
The group was set up to give Bengali women in the area a chance to meet socially and to use the facilities at the centre.
The group has grown and last year, the members received a Local Network Fund grant to help them provide after-school and weekend activities for children in the area.
These sessions, which are open to children from all backgrounds, have given the town's Bengali community the chance to share their cultural heritage with the people of the town.
