A MOTORCYCLE group is hosting a commuter competition today in Darlington to find the best way to tackle congested roads.
Darlington and District Motorcycle Action Group will pit four methods of travel against each other in the competition.
It will also organise an awareness day outside the town hall, from 1pm.
A motorcyclist, cyclist, car driver and bus passenger will find out the best way to negotiate the town's busy roads. They will start from Morrisons at Morton Park, at noon, and travel along Yarm Road to Darlington Town Hall.
Local representative Christopher Wooff said: "I expect the biker to be first. The fact that the council has done a lot of work for cycle routes, on a Saturday afternoon means the cyclist should do well. It would probably be the car last."
The group will also host a mass ride of up to 200 motorbikes to the town hall.
There, the group will hand out a questionnaire, survey and put on a presentation about congestion and the environment.
