AN art gallery has opened in Middlesbrough offering a taste of something a little different.

To promote the opening of Kitch-en, the owners spray painted 200 pieces of toast and handed them to shoppers.

One of the creative forces behind the project, 21-year-old Mark Warner, studied graphic design at Teesside University.

The centre will showcase the work of the Middlesbrough artist and his 30-year-old business partner, Ged Holmes, of Thornaby.

Mr Warner said: "The collection ranges from small canvasses and photographs to some spray-painted work on the walls. Ged creates very abstract and contemporary artwork, while I concentrate on urban street artwork."

The gallery, in Middlesbrough's Dundas Centre shopping centre, is currently open at limited times only. The gallery can be contacted on (07834) 826315.
