Darlington residents are to be given the chance to comment on plans to improve cycling in the town.
The town has been chosen as one of six Cycling Demonstration Towns nationally, by Cycling England.
The appointment means Darlington Borough Council will be allocated £1.5m over three years.
This must be matched by sources such as developer contributions, Local Transport Plans and other external funding, to improve cycling.
The key schemes in Darlington include:
* Improving cycle routes into the town centre
* Creating a cycle link with the new Darlington College, in Haughton Road
* Better links to all schools
* Providing secure cycle parking facilities at schools, businesses, the town centre and other key destinations
* Linking Darlington to the National Cycle Network.
Residents can view and comment on the plans for cycling by attending the Darlington Cycle Forum, at 6.15pm, on Tuesday, February 28, at Darlington Town Hall.
For more information contact cycling officer Oliver Lougheed on (01325) 388628.
