Stokesley SC aim to complete a quick double over New Marske when the sides meet in the second round of the Sunderland Shipowners Cup this afternoon, writes Malcolm Pratt.

Stokesley defeated their rivals 4-2 in the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup last week, but the Seasiders will field a stronger line-up today.

"We were missing several players in the first game, but should be better prepared this time," said secretary, David Taylor.

His opposite number Peter Grainge has lost Ian Fairlamb and Harrison Davies to Guisborough Town, but it is possible that three players could be in the line-up.

In the Wearside League, leaders Birtley Town entertain Willington with four players - Paul Bryson, Peter Coe, Paul Scott and Stephen Rochester - available. Mark Irwin is a doubt and Andrew Innes suspended.

Willington include Michael Abson and Philip Foster, but David Snow is banned.

Cleadon SC have a derby at Boldon CA where Brian Tulley, Stephen Fyall, Finbar Lynch and Danny Nixon are named. Manager Doug Key is hopeful that one of his two goalkeepers, Gary Brand or Lee Jackson, will be able to play after outfield player Philip Shakespeare had to keep goal last week.

Ryhope CW have leading scorer Mark Davison, who has been out for five weeks, resuming at Whitehaven, while Harton and Westoe bring in striker David Hopper against Teesside Athletic. Midfielder David Wells could be available.

Teesside are again unable to call upon captain Ian Johnson, but Steve Leneghan and Liam Wood are available.Chris Knight, Andrew Mitchell and Gary Young are doubts.

Wolviston play Ferryhill Athletic at Metcalfe Park and could give a full game to Stephen Kilpatrick, signed from Crook Town. He was introduced as a substitute last week. David Abel will play, but Andrew Robinson is a doubt.
