Judge Margaret Fay, of One NorthEast sums up the schools' efforts:

BELMONT COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL: Significant evidence of research and I really like the mood board style, but it would have been nice to have a paper summary of the presentation to back up the mood board and expand it in further detail.

DURHAM CHORISTERS SCHOOL: Lots of evidence of research and teamwork, very well presented and some great and original examples of successful people used. Not a lot missed out of this in terms of how to succeed, it showed a good knowledge and understanding by the team.

DURHAM COMMUNITY BUSINESS COLLEGE (team 1): Lots of evidence of research and self analysis and very original way of looking at what makes an entrepreneur. Good show of teamwork, a very good and solid overall report. All of the areas were covered well, the only areas where scores could have been improved were perhaps around originality, probably one of the hardest areas of the criteria.

DURHAM COMMUNITY BUSINESS COLLEGE (team 2): Liked the use of Muhammad Ali, a great example of someone with self-belief. It was a shame the team did not continue and include examples of good team-work, organisation and initiative. Some evidence of research, the team just really needed to expand in further detail.

DURHAM HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS: Very logical and fit for business, but needed to provide evidence of research and teamwork and show some of the background on how it came together.

DURHAM JOHNSTON SCHOOL: Lots of research evidenced in this piece of work. I really liked the skills analysis undertaken, and one of the only team to recognise parents as a source of information, very original. A very well-rounded piece of work.

FRAMWELLGATE SCHOOL: Lots of evidence of teamwork and nice to see individual team names on each page. One of the only teams to consider why you would want to run your own business, which was really interesting. This was a very well thought out and thorough piece of work.

FYNDOUNE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Although the team did not score highly on documented evidence, the presentation covered all and more of the key skills and characteristics in an inventive and easy to understand way. Really liked the individual effort for each letter, very inventive and a joy to read.

GILESGATE SPORTS COLLEGE: This presentation covered many original elements not touched on by others such as staff motivation, customer loyalty and attitude. It therefore scored quite highly for reality and fitness for purpose. It could have greatly increased its score by providing evidence of research and teamwork. I'm sure lots of both went into the presentation, but unfortunately it was not documented in any detail.

ST LEONARD'S RCVA SCHOOL: An excellent piece of work, it showed a real understanding of all of the research that the team had undertaken. Some great examples of business magnates, and I really liked the inclusion of lots of hand-written notes to back up the research. I'm really struggling to think of an area that could have been improved upon, possibly only originality, but I think this is one of the hardest criteria to score highly in.
