A MAN who was attacked as he slept is to be assessed by a neuro-surgeon to see if he has permanent brain damage.
Kevin Puttuck, 42, was assaulted at his house in Greenbank Road, Darlington, in the early hours of October 6.
Detective Sergeant Sean Jackson said police had been to see Mr Puttuck, who is being held at a secure unit, but he was in a confused state and was to be assessed by brain experts.
l Ian David Hudson, 30, of Minors Crescent, and Michael Atkinson, 19, of Brinkburn Road, both Darlington, have been jointly charged with aggravated burglary.
