A DOZEN up-and-coming groups from the North-East are competing in a college's annual Battle of the Bands contest.
The event, staged by East Durham and Houghall Community College, is taking place at the college theatre, in Peterlee.
Each heat sees competing bands playing a mix of original music and covers.
The bands are competing to win prizes, including a Fender Stratocaster guitar, musical equipment and £250 in music store vouchers.
