VOLUNTEERS are needed to help run a new community garden in Newton Aycliffe.
The community allotment has been created to offer people opportunities to take up gardening and to promote healthy diets and physical outdoor activity.
In return for helping to maintain the site, at the Pioneering Care Centre, on Cobblers Hall, volunteers can attend a free gardening course.
Anyone is welcome to join sessions at the garden on Fridays, from 10am to 12pm, for the next six weeks.
