POLICE hunting for missing shop worker Jenny Nicholl have completed a five-day examination of a flat in her home town.

Police began searching the flat in Richmond, North Yorkshire, last Sunday and finished yesterday.

It is understood that a number of items were taken away for forensic examination.

The empty flat is in a small set of apartments, at Culloden View, Waterloo, behind the town's Market Place.

It had been occupied by a man who moved out about two weeks ago.

Miss Nicholl, 20, disappeared nearly four months ago and, despite an extensive police operation, no trace of her has been discovered.

Despite the amount of time that has elapsed, detectives are still carrying out what is described as a rigorous inquiry.

An incident room is still in operation and there are a number of officers working full-time on the case.

Miss Nicholl was last seen by her parents, Ann and Brian, on Thursday, June 30.

She was reported missing when she failed to turn up at the Co-op in Richmond, where she worked, the following Monday.
