OFFICIALS at a dales agricultural show have praised the quality of livestock on display.

The 118th Bowes Show took place at the weekend at Home Farm, Gilmonby, in Teesdale.

The show included all the traditional classes as well as a family fun run and 10km obstacle course for driven horses.

There was also a climbing wall, a barbecue and live band.

The secretary of the Sheep Dogs and Hay Section, George Gill, said: "The quality of the sheep right through was excellent.

"The total entries overall were slightly down, but the quality of the sheep is the best I can remember.

"We were very unfortunate with the weather, but I think everybody enjoyed themselves nevertheless."
