Change in ward surgeries: WARD surgeries for people in Acklam, Middlesbrough, are no longer being held in Acklam Library. Concerns can now be raised with Councillor Shamal Biswas at his home, in 11 Buttermere Avenue, each Monday between 5pm and 6pm. However, ward surgeries will continue at Newham Bridge Primary School in Cawood Drive, Acklam, during term time on the third Monday of every month, between 5pm and 6pm.

Wheelchair skills: The Association of Wheelchair Children is running a children's wheelchair mobility-training course at Rye Hills School, Redcar Lane, Redcar, next Tuesday, for manual-wheelchair users and Wednesday, August 10, for electric wheelchair-users, when youngsters will be told how to manoeuvre kerbs and stairs - and to play basketball. Anyone wishing to attend may contact Roy Wild on 0870 121 0055, or simply turn up on the day.

Clubbing together: People over 50 will have the opportunity to make friends and gain interests with the launch of a social club in Guisborough. The club will be held every Monday, starting next week, meeting at Sunnyfield House in Westgate, from 10am to 4pm. The club is the result of hard work by Patricia Robinson and volunteers.
