MOBILE phone company Orange has unveiled its online strategy, aimed at "putting a human face on the Internet".
The group said it had made a number of recent acquisitions and set up ventures which would be combined into an Internet platform, to be called OrangeWorld.
Hans Snook, chief executive, said: "There is a big gap between the wirefree world we see tomorrow and the wirefree world we experience today.
"The strategy and the announcements we are setting out to explain how Orange intends to fill this gap - by creating and delivering OrangeWorld."
He added OrangeWorld would be "very human, very simple and very intuitive to use."
The new platform will tap into services from a number of Orange's recent acquisitions, including its £95m purchase of US-based voice recognition group Wildfire and a 25 per cent stake in US-based digital device company NewsTakes.
Orange has also recently snapped up Ananova, the world's first virtual newscaster, from the Press Association in a £95m deal.
The group's new ventures include the launching of a £300m cyber investment fund to accelerate the development of technology companies which can aid Orange in the future.
