TEENAGERS in Chester-le-Street have decided to entertain themselves, and everybody else on their estate, by organising a family fun day.
Chester Youth 2000, otherwise known as CY2K, has worked with Investing in Children, Groundwork Durham and Chester West Action Group, to organise a mixture of events, all on sporting or educational themes.
CY2K member Helen Miller, 17, said: "Most of the facilities are quite a distance away in the town centre, so se decided to do something that could involve all the young people in Chester West."
The fun day will be held at the Hermitage school field on Thursday, August 24, between 10am and 2pm.
Fun and games will include a five-a-side football tournament (for which teams are needed), a penalty shoot-out, tug of war, environmental games, story telling, and wellie throwing.
