AN international festival of folk music, song and dance is starting in a North-East seaside town tomorrow.

The third Saltburn International Festival continues throughout the weekend. Organisers say they have been able to expand the festival programme further into the Saltburn community thanks to a grant from the Millennium Awards For All scheme.

In addition to the regular itinerary of concerts, singing, ceilidhs, workshops and music sessions, there is a whole range of free events provided for residents of Saltburn and the surrounding area.

These community events will include street entertainment in the form of dance displays, music and singing, as well as children's and speciality acts in various parts of the town.

The weekend starts tomorrow afternoon with the folk festival indoor craft fair and market, which continues on Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday, highlights include a corn dolly workshop, a music hall, dance displays and entertainment, and Punch and Judy.
