TO celebrate the 150th anniversary of public libraries a fun day is being held at Stockton Central Library, from 10.30am to 4pm, on Wednesday.
Mystery Victorian objects from when libraries first opened will be on display for children to guess what they were used for.
There will also be face painting sessions, where children can become a famous book character, from Alice in Wonderland to Harry Potter, from 11am to 12pm and 3pm to 4pm.
The Book and Banter Club, which meets every Wednesday, between 10.30am and 12pm, will allow adults the chance to hear librarian Joyce Chesney discuss the history of libraries in Stockton. New members are welcome.
The Open Technology Centre will offer Web Wiser taster sessions for all as an introduction to the Internet. To book a place contact (01642) 393977.
All events are free.
