YOUNG people are being encouraged to get involved in the arts over the summer holidays.
Middlesbrough Borough Council's art development team has set up a series of workshops this week with musicians, actors and artists, resulting in a performance on Friday.
The Creative Arts Summer School is for children in the town's Education Action Zone and aims to give them a chance to develop their creative skills.
Assistant arts development officer Cathryn Drew said: "The summer school is a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn new, creative skills and develop the talents they already have under the guidance of experienced professional artists.
"It's also something a bit different to do over the summer holidays."
