DETECTIVES have released more details about an armed robbery at a village post office.
Two men burst into the sub-post office in Heighington, near Darlington, at 7.40pm on Friday. They made off with cash after threatening a shop assistant with a hand gun.
A blue car used in their getaway was found burned out hours later in Toft Hill, near Bishop Auckland.
The registration of the car, a Ford or Vauxhall, was F718 CUJ and police would like to hear from anyone who saw it either before or after the crime.
Both men wore balaclavas. One is 5ft 10in tall, in his twenties, with a local accent, and wearing a green combat jacket.
