AN engineer has spoken of the moments when he was shot at by a drunken ex-colleague.

Duncan Quinn, 22, of Fountains Court, Skelton, east Cleveland, was jailed for 21 months at Teesside Crown Court on Monday after he pleaded guilty to affray and having an offensive weapon.

Quinn had been sacked from Trelleborg, on the Skelton Industrial Estate - a factory which makes shields for washing machines - for damaging a machine. He had worked there for only a few days.

He returned three months later, on his birthday, drunk and carrying an air rifle. He shot at tools engineer Andrew Greenwood three times.

Yesterday, Mr Greenwood said: "I don't know why he singled me out, but when I saw him coming it only took a split second to move and the bullet ricocheted off my ear protectors. It could have been really horrible," he said.
