Darlington manager Gary Bennett could give another Frenchman his debut in tomorrow's home game against promotion-chasing Leyton Orient.

After giving Alex Jeannin and Olivier Bernard their first taste of English football in the last fortnight, Bennett might include Jean-Michel Cau and Abraham Keita in the squad for what will be another crucial game in their battle against relegation.

Both new signings scored in the 3-1 reserve win over Sheffield United on Wednesday night, and with David Brightwell and John Williams both struggling with groin injuries, then the door could well be open.

"Both of them did well in the reserve game," said Bennett.

"They both scored, and I couldn't complain about their performances.

"Ideally I would like to give them another week, but I might have to throw them in for Saturday."

Bennett will make a decision about Brightwell and Williams today.

Brightwell stayed in the dressing room at half-time during the Exeter game on Tuesday night, while Williams limped off following Richard Hodgson's equaliser

"If the game was being played today, then I don't think either of them would be fit," said Bennett.

Bennett is also taking into consideration the fact that Quakers have another home game coming up next week against Southend, and doesn't want to bring the players back too early.

Bennett also gave right-back John Hutton an outing in the reserves on Wednesday.

"John is going to be released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the season, and we wanted to have a look at him," said Bennett. Hutton also played for the reserves a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, on loan full-back Olivier Bernard has returned to training following treatment to an ankle injury, and barring any reaction, will be included in the squad for tomorrow.

Northampton are involved in talks with a European consortium, over a possible takeover bid.

Cobblers chairman Barry Stonhill has reassured supporters that the directors will act only in the best interests of the club when considering a change of ownership.
