A JILTED lover flashed a topless picture of his ex-girlfriend to boys at the school where she was teaching.

Yesterday, Sunderland magistrates heard that Marc Bastholm pursued a campaign of intimidation against her after they split in January.

Paul Power, prosecuting, said Bastholm harassed the woman, shouting abuse at her and her daughter after following them home from a city pub.

On January 30, he told her he was planning to blow up a topless picture he had taken of her and show it to pupils at St Aidan's School, Sunderland, where she was a student teacher.

Mr Power said: "She arrived at school the following day and was approached by a senior teacher who said a male had been outside and had, indeed, been showing the topless picture to pupils at the school."

Bastholm telephoned his ex, laughing and taunting her.

Half an hour later, he turned up at her house, sounding the horn of his car and calling her mobile phone.

She rang the police, then set off for an appointment with her solicitor, followed by Bastholm in his car, sounding the horn and flashing his headlights.

She took out an injunction to force him to stay away - but an hour later he turned up, banging on her front door, said Mr Power.

Bastholm, 31, of Rose Street East, Penshaw, near Sunderland, admitted harassment.

Cecil Emmerson, for Bastholm, said the woman had an element of responsibility, adding: "She certainly was the cause and knew it."

Bastholm was sentenced to 18 months' probation, ordered to pay his victim £250 compensation and made the subject of a one-year restraining order.
