MICROCHIP manufacturer Atmel has awarded a £500,000 contract to Knowledge IT.
Atmel, which acquired the former Siemens factory on North Tyneside last year, is investing in technology to ensure the plant is equipped to meet expansion plans.
Network and e-business specialist Knowledge IT, of Wearside, will provide hardware and consultation for both office and shop floor departments.
The review involves the configuration, supply and implementation of 23 file servers, office servers and new robots and production tools.
