DAVID "Dandy" Nicholls hit form again in good order at the weekend, sending out Yarob to land the Chester opener, while Kieren Fallon partnered the flying Undeterred to score at Newcastle.

In that sprint, Nicholls' wife Alex Greaves looked very unlucky on Continent, boxed on the rails, and this looks set to win soon.

The Sessay trainer was strong-handed in the Goodwood six-furlong on Sunday, but Flak Jacket and Zuhair, partnered by son Adrian Nicholls and Alex respectively, were beaten a head and the same.

At Southwell's mixed meeting (Fibresand and turf), Richard Fahey was relieved to get his first winner for a fortnight when El Dolor landed the AW five furlong.

Brother-in-law Tim Easterby and uncle Mick Easterby have both fared better of late. Tim sent out Clever Girl at Newcastle to a second win in a week and Forever Times to score at Chester, while Little Pearl won at Pontefract. Mick had winners at Chester and Newcastle.

John Quinn and James Hetherton have both shown good form in the week, with near neighbour Nigel Tinkler also on song. He and Julie Craze had to split the prize money at Musselburgh's evening meeting.

The Middleham gang continue well, too, although Mark Johnston had to wait until Monday for his next success. Patrick Haslam sent out China Castle to another win, the old timer still managing to notch up victories.

Steve Kettlewell sent Dispol Evita and Hout Bay to win at Brighton.
