Middlesbrough look set to complete the signings of Manchester United pair Jonathan Greening and Mark Wilson for a combined fee of around £4million.
Despite interest from West Ham for the duo and an 11th hour bid from Ipswich for Wilson, it is believed both players were on Teesside last night for talks and will undergo medicals today before completing their moves.
Boro boss Steve McClaren has been chasing the England Under-21 players since taking over at the Riverside two months ago and despite United holding out for £4.5million, it now seems a compromise has been reached following Boro's initial £3.5million bid.
Town boss George Burley had hoped to pinch Wilson with a last ditch bid but it is thought that Boro were only interested in a combined package which has seemingly ruled the Portman Road outfit out of any move for Wilson.
