CIU League - Cockton Hill closed the gap at the top of the darts section after they only dropped one point at Chilton and now trail Crook Belle Vue by eight points.

The Victoria are ten points adrift of Cockton Hill but have two matches in hand. Byers Green won a tight home match against Stanhope with maximums from Alan Clarkson and Brian Sheldon.

The chasing teams in the dominoes section failed to take advantage of Crook Belle Vue's idle week for both second placed, Crowtrees and third placed, Cockton Hill lost by the odd point. This leaves Crook five points clear with Crowtrees holding second place and a match in hand. Cockton Hill are two points behind Crowtrees.

Ferryhill hold a one point advantage over Cockton Hill in the pool section with a match in hand, while Byers Green have moved up to third spot, six points behind Cockton Hill.

Crook 4D's League

Crook White Swan went to a darts victory in the local derby against the Crook King's Head after making an excellent start by taking both trebles points. The Swan continued in good form with wins in the ladies and mixed pairs, whilst the King's opened their account in the men's pairs. Paula Stephenson and Gail Hamilton took ladies singles points for the Swan with Marie Hudspeth replying. However the scores were reversed in the men's singles when only Colin Cranston scored for the Swan with John Heathcoat and John Ward winning for the King's Head.

The Crook Crown Hotel got away to a good start at home to Crook Coach and Horses in the dominoes when Diane Green and John Warriner took the two singles. However the Coach Pulled back with a ladies pairs win from Karen Ayre and Joan Hodgson and went on to win with points from the men's pairs and the mixed pairs.

Willington Ladies League

The new season will begin on Thursday, August 16 with nine teams competing in both the darts and dominoes sections. There is a vacancy for a team to fill the blank spot but names and registration fees have to reach Margaret Todd at 20 High Street, Willington before the start of the season.

The fixtures for the first week are: Wilington Market A v Willington Black Horse; Willington Club A v Wilington Club B; Willington Lion and Unicorn v Willington Market B; Hunwick Joiners Arms v Hunwick Quarry Burn. Sunnybrow Brown Trout have a bye.
