Dormans maintained their position second from top in division one with an emphatic victory at home to Brotton.

The visitors were all out in 23.3 overs for just 72 and more than half the runs came from Andy Hanczik, who went in at number three and carried his bat for 45. Craig Dale had a good game with the ball for Dormans and in 11 overs, two of which were maidens he claimed five for just 23 runs. Fareed Ramzan and Baba Noor each took one wicket.

In reply, Dormans conceded only two wickets and needed just 16 overs meeting the modest target. After Steve Patton had departed early, Tony Insall led the way with 33, hitting four boundaries and Noor carried his bat for 24, with a couple of fours.

Normanby Parklands remain in pole position even though they lost by eight wickets at Staithes. The visitors, who suffered their first defeat in 16 outings, were bowled out for just 80 mainly by the efforts of Brown who took five for 35 runs, and Theaker with two for 23.

Responding, Staithes won losing just two wickets as Khawaja ended undefeated on 37.

Hinderwell had 121 runs to spare in their home game with Greatham Paragonians. Spenceley who opened the innings, finished undefeated on 101 and Swain carried his bat for 55 when Hinderwell realised 179 for one before declaring. In reply, Paragonians were all out for 58 as Theaker captured four for 28 runs and Swain returned figures of five for 13.

Skelton Castle made just 92 but Loftus has to fight all the way for a four wickets win. Stainthorpe with 30 not out top performed for Skelton Castle and for Loftus Whitwell claimed four for 37 runs and Barritt three for 25. Loftus lost early wickets but Barritt who went in at number four, remained form and he was undefeated on 51 when a total of 96 for six was achieved. Three of the wickets were taken by Hogarth for 44 runs and Grant claimed two for 30.

Hadfield scored 128 and Williams 33 when Middlesbrough Co-op piled up a total of 207 for the loss of seven wickets at the Ladle. Burdon returned three for 98 and Sutherland three for 51 for The Ladle who in reply were all out for 94 as Williams claimed six for 21.

Ormesby Hall dismissed New Marske for just 77 but then lost nine wickets before celebrating victory. In a game where bowlers were in command, Burns top scored with 25 for New Marske as Davies returned the excellent figures of six for 22 and Trotter had three for 21.

Responding, Ormesby Hall struggled against the bowling of McLean, who took five for 38 and Taggart, with four for 35 but they edged to victory with their last pair at the wicket as Newsom, who went in at number nine, carried his bat for 209 and last man McCabe contributed 11 not out.

Norton still lead Division Two despite being held to a draw by Gillen Sports. When the home side made first use of the wicket they posted 125 for eight with opener Tweed batting throughout for an undefeated 38 while Prosser added 31. Walker was the most successful bowler in the Norton attack with three for 56 and both Watson and Harker claimed two wickets apiece.

In reply, Norton were three runs short of winning margin but with their last pair together ending with 123 for nine. Henry captured for four 55 runs and Prosser took three for 29 while Dixon was also among the wickets with two for 32 in the Gillen Sports attack.

Moorsholm are second and they had 136 runs in hand of Cowpen Bewley. When Moorsholm made first use of the wicket they romped to 202 for five declared in 34 overs as Andy Muir and Barry Lowe put on 114 runs for the fifth wicket. Muir hit two sixes and eight boundaries in 79 and Lowe carried his bat for 52 with three sixes and five fours. Wintersgill bowled a lengthy in the Cowpen Bewley attack taking three wickets for 103 runs and in reply the visitors were all out with one over remaining and with just 66 runs on the board. Nick Warne claimed four wickets for 24 runs in 14 overs and Stuart Ward had four for 11 from 9.2 overs.

Normanby Parklands hosted Dormanstown and won by 81 runs bowling out their visitors for just 65. Fox, McGough and Rogers all claimed three cheap wickets for Normanby Parklands who batting first ended with 146 for nine wicket included 52 by Fox and 30 from Scrafton. Lloyd had a good deal with the ball for Dormanstown claiming three wickets for 23 runs and Hatch took four for 69.

Cowpen Bewley A went down by one wicket against Boosbeck. Fairley top scored with 40 when Cowpen Bewley A realised 116 all out with Richardson taking five for 47 and Ward four for 46. Responding, Boosbeck just edged to victory mainly due to the efforts of Lorraines, with 33. Carr almost won the game for Cowpen Bewley A taking six for 39 runs and Fairley gave support with two for 24.

Loftus and Ormesby Hall drew their game. Batting first Loftus finished on 194 for seven as the runs flowed from the bat of Tyreman (42) Bowman (37) and Codling, with 35 not out.

When Ormesby Hall went in to bat they ended on 101 for eight which included 39 by Averell. Hogan, with three for 25 and Shaw (3-47) were the pick of the Loftus attack.
