Darlington boss Gary Bennett is hoping his side can bounce back at home to Kidderminster Harriers tomorrow.

The Quakers were narrowly beaten at Southend last week and Bennett admitted he's not too concerned about how they collect three points - as long as they do!

"It would be nice to score a goal, but I don't care when we score, whether it's in the first or the 89th minute, as long as it wins us the game," said Bennett.

"We have to build on last Saturday at Southend. I thought we went about the game in the right way last week, but we just didn't take our chances.

"Probably the only thing wrong with the performance was that we didn't get on the end of our chances, but we looked like a team, which is good.

Bennett may be tempted to give Danny Mellanby a starting place after he impressed after coming on at Roots Hall last week.

"We have got the players at the club who can take the chances, people like Barry Conlon and Danny Mellanby, but last Saturday showed that there is a thin line between success and failure if you don't score goals. We could have left Southend with two or three goals in the bag.

After a poor pre-season and last week's defeat, Quakers fans are fearing the worst after last season's brush with relegation but Bennett is optimistic his side will soon turn things around.

"If we play the way we did at Southend every week, then I think we will win more games than we lose," said Bennett.
