TWO blocks of cannabis resin were found in the trousers of a motorist on an industrial estate after a prostitute told police he was carrying drugs in his car, a court heard.

When detectives followed up their discovery with a search of Ronald Henderson's Darlington home, they found amphetamines and items including scales and a "dealer's list", said Mike Bosomworth, prosecuting, yesterday.

Teesside Crown Court heard how officers had been acting on the prostitute's information when they stopped 40-year-old Henderson's Fiat car on Middlesbrough's Cannon Park estate in April.

After asking him if he had any drugs, he said: "Just a block of blow down my trousers."

Two blocks, weighing a total of 501gm and with a street value of £2,145, were found, said Mr Bosomworth, who said Henderson was cautioned and arrested before officers went to his home in McMullen Road.

There, his partner directed them to 484gm of amphetamines hidden in kitchen drawers, as well as a number of other small amounts around the house, with a total value of £5,120.

Mr Bosomworth said officers also found a map of Hartlepool, where Henderson had previously lived, marked with addresses.

Henderson pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and a similar charge relating to the amphetamines.

However, the prosecution did not accept the grounds for his plea after hearing that Henderson claimed he intended to sell the drugs only to friends.

Judge Leslie Spittle ordered the case to be adjourned
