AN £80m UK modernisation programme by Marks & Spencer has provided North-East companies with a boost.
Amec, of Sedgefield, has won a £15m contract to oversee the project in 15 stores, including Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Gateshead. The Amec win will also benefit floor specialists Armstrong Todd; electrical subcontractors Fletchers, ceiling firm GT Contracts, of Newcastle, and Gateshead paint firm Pyeroy.
