Darlington Harriers - The senior women have regained the Stuart Pailor Trophy after a five-year gap.

A team Bernadette Taylor ran 6:05.00 first leg, Georgina Rutherford 6:29.00 second leg and Joanne Short 6:41 third leg.

The B team was Marion Bynoe 7.33; Phillippa Smith 8.17; Chrissie Clifford 9.44 14th team.

Under-13 boys, incomplete teams: Jamie Rutherford 7.36; Paul Chandler 7.51.

Under-13 girls: Stephanie Weddel 7.29; Lauren Peacock 8.01; Emma Clifford 7.39; eighth team.

Senior and vets men: A team Nigel Orr 11.31; Jack Mason 13.13; Martin Grainger 12.09; Ben Wilson 12.15; sixth team.

The overall finishing position was sixth team out of 14 with 15 points.

Jack Mason ran the Bradford 10km road race in the morning and then completed the six-mile cross country race in the afternoon. Ken Hudson, Hon Lee, Paul Kelly, Harry Prince, Alison Raw and Annette Hubery all took part in the Richmond Castle 10km road race on Sunday.

Elvet Striders

At the Hamsterly forest 10k road race which was held over a testing coarse and included a ford crossing half way round , the race saw a good turnout of runners. First back for the Striders was Paul Dunn in a time of 37:21.

Both Mike Hall and Jackie Smith won prizes for their age groups.

Quakers

Fell running is returning to County Durham with the Quakers staging the Ayhope Skyline Fell Race on Sunday, November 4. This will be the first fell race staged in the county since the onset of the foot-and-mouth crisis at the beginning of the year.

Unfortunately, the event will not be over its original planned course of 13 miles, instead the route will be confined to Hamsterley Forest and will be approximately seven to eight.
