GREAT Ayton dominated the first half of their match against Hinderwell, but they failed to capitalise and it was Hinderwell who were a goal up at the break when Lythe took his chance after a good break.

In the second half Ayton changed their tactics and began pushing the ball up the wing, using Murray and Ripley. In the 55th minute a Collins cross fell for Lane to head home the equaliser.

Ten minutes later a Murray cross found Ripley who volleyed past the Hinderwell keeper from ten yards. After a further ten minutes another cross led to Lane's second goal when he tapped the ball in from six yards.

Hinderwell then pulled a goal back when Robinson beat four players and the keeper, but Ripley immediately replied with his second and Ayton's fourth.

After struggling for a team at the start of the season, Boosbeck United seem to have found a settled side and this showed in their match against Whitby Fishermans.

Martin Myers, making his debut in goal for Boosbeck, was particularly outstanding, but Whitby took the lead in the opening minutes through Wilson.

Boosbeck then immediately took charge and their efforts paid off ten minutes later when Johnson found the target. Just before half-time Boosbeck went ahead when Iseton picked up a loose ball in the box and fired home.

Iseton netted his second in the tenth minute of the second half and then Whitby had a late surge. A deflection off Morgan was slotted home by Roberts and with ten minutes to go they were awarded a dubious penalty from which Storr equalised.

Brotton entertained leaders Huntsman and went ahead in the 30th minute through Bedenfield. Huntsman had the better of the second half and equalised in the 65th minute with an own goal by McMillan.

Highland Laddie took the lead at Grosmont after 15 minutes through Brown and they went further ahead on the half hour when Hall's fine cross into the box went over the keeper.

Powell put them three up at the break, but Grosmont pulled one back 15 minutes into the second half through Duck. Hicks then beat two men to score a well-taken goal, but Grosmont couldn't find the equaliser.

Grangetown still remain unbeaten in the league after beating Lingdale 4-0, while Loftus won 2-1 at home to Boosbeck Athletic. Staithes retain third position after a 3-1 win over fourth-placed Redcar Mackinlay Park.

Lealholm won a place in the draw for the next round of the league cup after coming out on top against Anchor. Both Brown and Whitwell scored in each half to give Lealholm their 4-0 victory
