A BAND of St Trinian's schoolgirls took over the running of a Guisborough charity shop yesterday as part of a day of events aimed at encouraging more volunteers.
The staff at the Help the Aged shop in the Market Place dressed up as schoolgirls and provided cakes for visitors to the shop as part of Make A Difference Day.
The event takes place annually as a way of encouraging people to volunteer some of their time and make a difference in their local community.
Alison Gibson, manager of the Guisborough shop, said: "By taking part in this event we want to attract attention to volunteering in the local community and to show that while we work very hard, we also have great fun together. Our Help the Aged volunteers are a committed group of men and women of all ages, who gain immense satisfaction from their volunteering.
